The food you get when a Patel family likes you.
We're two brothers from a Gujarati household where feeding people was the family sport. The Patel Brothers is that table, scaled up: a desi kitchen for everyday thalis and a catering side that sends proper trays — not sad hotel pans — to your weddings, pujas, office lunches, and Sunday somethings.
Our kitchen
Recipes with last names.
Every dish we'll serve has a source: Ba's kadhi, the dal our mother adjusted for thirty years and finally declared finished, the undhiyu our masi guards like a state secret and shared exactly once. We wrote it all down before opening a kitchen, because restaurants forget and families don't.
"Add more. They look hungry." — the only serving-size guidance we were ever given
The kitchen is vegetarian at its core, the Gujarati way, with a few Punjabi-leaning crowd-pleasers because this is America and someone always asks for paneer. Rotis are rolled to order. The jaggery is real. The chaas is free with every thali, and arguing about that was never an option.
The daily kitchen
Four thalis, rotating all week.
A thali is a complete answer to dinner: sabzi, dal or kadhi, rice, rotis, something crunchy, something sweet, chaas to wash it down. These four are our opening lineup; the sabzis inside them rotate with the market.
The Gujarati $14
The house standard — how we actually eat.
- Seasonal sabzi + ringan-style eggplant
- Gujarati dal, sweet and tangy, or kadhi
- Steamed rice, three rotis, papad
- Kachumber, pickle, jaggery bite
The Punjabi Guest $15
For the paneer people. We get it.
- Paneer in a tomato-butter gravy
- Dal makhani, slow and unapologetic
- Jeera rice, two butter rotis
- Onion salad, pickle, gulab jamun
The Light One $12
Khichdi weather exists year-round.
- Moong khichdi with ghee
- Gujarati kadhi, light and sour
- Roasted papad, chhundo
- Chaas, obviously
The Sunday $17
Weekend-only. Portions ignore advice.
- Undhiyu or seasonal special sabzi
- Dal, pulao, four rotis or two theplas
- Farsan of the day (dhokla, khandvi...)
- Shrikhand or basundi to finish
Thali prices are our launch plan. Chaas free with every thali — this is policy, not promotion.
Catering
Trays sized for real gatherings.
We size trays the family way: a "half tray" should feed the number we say it feeds even if your uncles come back for seconds. Build a menu from the daily kitchen or hand us the event and let us plan it.
| Size | Feeds | Good for | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small tray | 8–10 | Family dinner, game night | $45 |
| Half tray | 15–20 | Office lunch, satsang, birthday | $80 |
| Full tray | 30–40 | Mehndi night, graduation, big puja | $150 |
| Thali boxes | per person | Seated events — a full thali, boxed | $13 ea |
Multi-course menus, live roti and farsan stations, and quantities planned with the aunties' committee, not against it.
Fully vegetarian, onion-garlic-free menus on request, delivered hot and on the temple's schedule, not ours.
Labeled trays, serving ware included, mild and spicy clearly separated so nobody learns about green chilies the hard way.
Plan an event
The kitchen isn't lit yet — the planning can start.
We're finishing our kitchen buildout now. Opening date, pickup details, and delivery range will be announced here first. If you have an event on the calendar, tell us about it below and we'll be in touch the moment booking opens.
Everything on this page — thalis, trays, prices — is our honest launch plan, written before opening day. Expect small adjustments, not surprises.
